Hiking trails
Fitness trail, Route de Weyersheim, near the railroad crossing, 67760 Gambsheim
Along a 4 Km fitness trail, several stops are provided with training equipment. Boards explain the exercises by using pictograms. On the same trail, you will also find botanical information on boards (French).
Tip: you can park at the starting point of the trail. Children will also find a playground.

Three paths of different lengths lead into the Rhine floodplains: path of the Rench 8 Km, path of the Rhine 8 Km, path of the old Rhine 9 Km. Starting in the village, you can either go to the quary pond (with barbeque installations) and the Rhine, pass by the fruit garden towards the old Rhine, or along the Rench with the pedagogical fruit garden and transit across the village.

> History and Nature trail, 77866 Rheinau-Memprechtshofen
The path leading through the surroundings has information at more than 25 stations. You'll learn about nature, memorials and history as well as explanations on the half-timbered houses which dot town. Lovely scenery combined with information about the former inhabitants.
Tip: On several points, German boards give information. A German booklet with map and explanations can be bought. Starting point: town hall next to the church.

A loop hiking trail leads you into the humid landscape made up of flooded grassland, copses, hedges and freestanding trees. Over and over you will come across the cane (=reed). The 6 Km trail is walkable at any time in the year.
Tip: Watchful visitors may see several animals or their tracks. Please do not disturb or scare the animals; do not touch their little ones. Starting point: football ground.
> National Nature reserve, 67850 Offendorf
At the heart of the woodland of Offendorf, two nature reserves have been set aside, covering an area of 110 ha to protect the remaining alluvial plains. Here, nature runs its course.

> The line of landmarks, upstream water of the locks, 67760 Gambsheim
The line of landmarks represents a selection of 15 pictures, taken during a thirty-year long journey on the utmost geographical and political boarders of the European Union. These pictures have been transferred on enamel slabs and set securely in concrete pillars all along the way.
Tip: The way spans the dyke between kilometre point 306,5 and 308. Good view of the dam with the ships going in and out of the locks.

The united district of the “Espace Rhénan”, of which Offendorf is a member, has developed several hiking trails so that you can discover the landscape around the Rhine.
Tip: The hiking trail of Offendorf is 5,7 km long. Native to the area, beavers, can be observed. Starting point: "Route de la digue" near the communal depot. >download the brochure
