The Visitors` Gallery

.... is the area intended for and accessible to the public. Visitors reach the exhibition located three meters under ground by stairs or elevator. Included are information boards dealing with the construction of the fish ladder, the straightening of the Rhine river, the reintroduction of salmon, fish species in the Rhine.

The course of the river on the floor leads you into the observation room facing three observation windows. By amplifying the sound of the water, loud speakers create a special atmosphere.

More than 30 species of fish use the fish ladder
Since there are several factors like water level, temperature, season or time of day that influence the migration of the fish, we can not guarantee that you will see fishes passing by during your visit. To make shure your visit is worthwhile, a huge aquarium accommodates local species of fish which are regularly replenished.

Outside a panoramic viewpoint can be reached by two set of stairs. It offers a view of the site of the fish ladder. An orientation plan with explanations simplifies the function of the fish ladder. The visitors' terrace offers a top view into the basins with the water rushing through.
